 Interior Wood Top Coat

INTERIOR TOP COAT: is a clear, durable water-borne finish that is the final part of a complete line of water based conditioners, stains, and sealers. It will not yellow and is non-flammable, is low odor and very quick drying.  Interior Top Coat creates a surface that resists scratches and damage from most household chemicals and stains.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Before finishing the wood should be sealed with Wood Iron Sanding Sealer that has been lightly sanded and dusted (see directions for the Sanding Sealer). Putty all nail holes prior to applying Top Coat. Check nail holes to make sure there are no smudges. If smudges exist wipe clean with a clean rag. Temperature should be 55 degrees or above. Cool temperatures and/or high humidity will inhibit drying time. Place drop clothes under work and mask not receiving a finish.

COVERAGE: 450 square feet per gallon.

APPLICATION: Do not shake, but stir thoroughly before use. Apply the Top Coat with an airless sprayer. To avoid injury become familiar with the safe use of an airless sprayer before operating the equipment. Tip recommendations are 3:09. Trim can be brushed but brushing is not recommended on larger surfaces. Spray along the grain of the wood in even strokes. Keep a wet edge and do not reapply in partially dry areas. One to two coats are recommended depending upon the wear expected. Top Coat is sandable within 1 hour. If two coats are desired lightly sand between coats with 220 grit paper. Wipe the dust from the surface and reapply.

DRYING TIME: Dries to touch in 1/2 hour. Can be recoated in 1 hour depending on conditions and thickness of application. Finished products can be packaged within 6 hours. Stackable within 48 hours.

TOUCH UP: Lightly sand affected area, restain if necessary with matching stain. Apply Top Coat over affected area. Gloss will subside within 30 days.

FULL CURE: 30 DAYS

CLEAN UP: Clean equipment immediately with warm, soapy water.
